Bodhidharma was an Indian prince from the south of India from a place called Sailum. At a very young age he became a Buddhist monk. He went to china to preach Buddhism. When he went to Shaolin temple, he saw that the monks who were practicing to get enlightenment were in poor health. He taught them various exercises like the Muscle tendon classic Yi Jin Jing and the Bone Marrow Qigong so that they could get stronger and meditate for longer hours to achieve enlightenment. Bodhidharma is the enigmatic founder of Chan (Zen) and Shaolin Kung-Fa. In a revolutionary effort, by drawing several parallels between the culture of Chan and Indian esoteric Buddhism, the study proves that Shaolin Kung-Fu finds its roots in Indian Hatha Yoga. Bodhidharma lived in China from age of 40 years to around 160 years and died in china.
